Hello, my name is Andrew Jara. I am trying to be a writer/director. I made a film named "Last Days" that i'm trying to bring some press to.
Catching Elephant is a theme by Andy Taylor
Plot: A young man is taken into the world of male stripping by the title character, Magic Mike.
Review: Okay this is weird but Magic Mike is one of the best films of the year. I think it’s more of a guy film than a girl film. Following the lives of a couple of guys who can have sex with any girl and are really cool but also happen to be strippers. I think this was Steven Soderbergh’s plan all along. The film has a couple of themes that are rarely looked at. The first is the time before you’ve reached your dream where you’re saving up or waiting around. Cause it becomes very easy to lose track on your ultimate goal by focusing too much on your current ones. Tatum as Magic Mike is trying to save up to have his own furniture store but has become so enraptured in the stripping life that his ultimate goal seems further and further away. The other theme is thought that sometimes you can ruin someone’s life without realizing it. The destruction of Alex Pettyfer is done in such a subtle way that it hits you like a ton of bricks. Overall this movie is more than stripping. Matthew McConaughey turns in one of the best performances of the year as the owner of the strip club and Cody Horn becomes a new interest crush. Like all Soderbergh films, it has a big color contrast, uses a lot of improvised dialogue and has a meandering plot. But it’s the best of them. So watch it if you get a chance.
Trivia: While it is inspired by Channing Tatum’s stint as a stripper, it is not based on it.
